Abstract

RESUMEN: La investigación se llevó a cabo en diez pacientes con diagnóstico de Lumbalgia que realizaron la rutina de Williams como parte de su tratamiento y pacientes que realizaron ejercicios de fortalecimiento para la columna lumbar, atendidos en el área de Fisioterapia del Hospital Militar Regional de San Miguel, en el período de julio a septiembre de 2006, con el objetivo de establecer la comparación de la evolución en dichos pacientes y comprobar que técnica de ejercicios es más benéfica. El tipo de investigación empleada fue el prospectivo y comparativo; las técnicas de obtención de informaciones utilizadas fueron de tipo documental como la bibliográfica y de campo como la observación y la entrevista; para lo cual se utilizaron instrumentos como ficha bibliográfica, hoja de evaluación de Fisioterapia y guía de entrevista dirigida a pacientes con diagnóstico de Lumbalgia atendidos en el área de Fisioterapia de dicha Institución, a través de los cuales se obtuvieron datos como las edades más predominantes que eran de 32 a 43 años, siendo la muestra un total de 10 pacientes los cuales se mantuvieron en todo el transcurso de la ejecución. Al inicio del programa de tratamiento, se realizó evaluaciones y se seleccionó a los pacientes para que un grupo realizará la rutina de Williams y otro grupo los ejercicios de fortalecimiento de la columna lumbar; ambos grupos recibieron tratamiento mediante las modalidades de Termoterapia, Crioterapia, Ultrasonido, TENS, Masaje; observándose al final del período de ejecución, que los pacientes que realizaron la Rutina de Williams evolucionaron favorablemente, lo que se logró con ello un mejor desenvolvimiento permitiéndoles así realizar las actividades con mayor facilidad. ABSTRACT: The research was carried out in ten patients diagnosed with Low Back Pain who performed the Williams routine as part of their treatment and patients who performed strengthening exercises for the lumbar spine, treated in the Physiotherapy area of ​​the Regional Military Hospital of San Miguel, in the period from July to September 2006, with the aim of establishing the comparison of the evolution in these patients and verifying which exercise technique is more beneficial. The type of research used was prospective and comparative; The techniques used to obtain information were documentary, such as bibliography, and field techniques, such as observation and interview; for which instruments such as bibliographic record, Physiotherapy evaluation sheet and interview guide aimed at patients with a diagnosis of Low Back Pain treated in the Physiotherapy area of ​​said Institution were used, through which data were obtained such as the most predominant ages that They were between 32 and 43 years old, with a total of 10 patients in the sample, who remained throughout the execution. At the beginning of the treatment program, evaluations were carried out and the patients were selected so that one group would perform the Williams routine and another group the lumbar spine strengthening exercises; both groups received treatment through the modalities of Thermotherapy, Cryotherapy, Ultrasound, TENS, Massage; Observing at the end of the execution period, that the patients who performed the Williams Routine evolved favorably, which was achieved with a better development, thus allowing them to perform the activities with greater ease
