Abstract

RESUMEN: La presente investigación se realizó en pacientes con diagnóstico de Evento Cerebro Vascular, con secuela de hemiplejía en etapa de recuperación relativa entre las edades de 35 a 60 años de ambos sexos, que asistían al área de Terapia Ocupacional del Centro de Rehabilitación Integral de Oriente, de la ciudad de San Miguel, durante el período de julio a septiembre de 2004, con el objetivo de conocer la influencia de la Terapia Ocupacional en dichos pacientes y definir el grado de independencia que pueden lograr en la realización de las actividades de la vida diaria, por medio de la misma. El tipo de estudio realizado fue prospectivo y analítico, y las técnicas de obtención de la información utilizadas fueron de tipo documental como la bibliográfica y de campo como la observación y la entrevista; para lo cual se utilizaron instrumentos como la ficha bibliográfica y archivológica, la guía de evaluación de Terapia Ocupacional para pacientes con Evento Cerebro Vascular, guía de entrevista dirigida al médico neurólogo del Centro de Rehabilitación Integral de Oriente y la guía de entrevista dirigida a los pacientes con diagnóstico de Evento Cerebro Vascular atendidos en el área de Terapia Ocupacional de dicho centro, a través de los cuales se conocieron datos como la población masculina que estaba constituida por el 60% y la femenina por el 40% y las edades más predominantes eran entre los 56 a 60 años, siendo la muestra un total de 15 pacientes. Al iniciar el programa de tratamiento, los pacientes fueron evaluados, encontrándose la mayoría, con dificultad para realizar las actividades de la vida diaria, el vestuario, la deambulación, debido a la disminución de la funcionalidad física a causa de la enfermedad, a éstos pacientes se les brindó tratamiento de Terapia Ocupacional por tres meses, en los cuales, a través de actividades se trabajó en la funcionalidad y destreza del hemicuerpo afectado por la secuela de hemiplejía, mediante el uso de aparatos como tableros de ensambles, marco escalador, marco flexor, conos entre otros; a través del entrenamiento sobre técnicas de vestuario y sobre el uso de dispositivos para la marcha; observando al finalizar el período de estudio que los pacientes habían evolucionado favorablemente gracias al tratamiento brindado, resultando con mayor funcionalidad del hemicuerpo afectado que les permitió ser a unos independientes y a otros semidependientes en sus actividades de la vida diaria. ABSTRACT: The present investigation was carried out in patients with a diagnosis of Cerebrovascular Event, with sequelae of hemiplegia in relative recovery stage between the ages of 35 to 60 years of both sexes, who attended the Occupational Therapy area of ​​the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center of Oriente, in the city of San Miguel, during the period from July to September 2004, with the aim of learning about the influence of Occupational Therapy on these patients and defining the degree of independence they can achieve in carrying out the activities of the daily life through it.
